After receiving a Masters degree in Social Work from Wayne State University, I started my holistic psychotherapy practice in 2011. With graduate training in psychodynamic therapy, and both a personal and professional interest in holistic approaches to healing, I was drawn to study forms of psychotherapy that focused on the body-mind connection.
The more I learned about and experienced the wisdom of the body, and its role in health and wellness, I was inspired to incorporate more body-centered practices into the therapy process with clients. Simultaneously, I felt compelled to better understand human behavior from a traditional psychodynamic perspective because this approach offers a wealth of information about how to create lasting, positive change.
Since both traditional and body-centered approaches felt equally important and helpful, I embraced them both. In my practice, I offer a blend of sensorimotor and traditional psychodynamic therapy, with EMDR, and other mindfulness-based exercises.
My experience also includes working as an intern at Reconnect With Food, a holistically focused eating disorder center, and Lifespan Clinical Services, an outpatient mental health clinic. I have experience leading workshops focused on women’s issues and empowerment, and have a special interest in helping people transform shame and heal from trauma.
